Sauna Apartment near Nyugati Station: Spacious Family Stay in Budapest
Family Adventure in Pest: Modern Comfort and Wellness in the Heart of the City Center
When we started planning our trip to Budapest with my family, Mom and Dad spent a lot of time thinking about where our base should be. In the end, we specifically looked for a place "close to Nyugati Railway Station," and looking back, I can say it was the "best decision." Since all our programs, the museums, and the cool food spots were at the "center" of our destinations, we hardly had to use public transport; everything was right in the neighborhood.
As a teenager, the most important thing for me is not to have to travel for hours for nothing, and this area is exactly like that. Westend is just a few minutes' walk away, which was a huge plus for me, but I also really enjoyed the buzz of the Grand Boulevard. We weren't in some boring, hidden street, but right where things actually happen, yet we still had our own quiet place to retreat to.
First Impressions and Spotless Cleanliness
When we entered the apartment, the first thing I noticed was how "modern, comfortable, and clean" everything was. I like sleek, new stuff, and this flat was exactly like that: no kitsch, just comfortable furniture and order. My parents, of course, immediately checked if the shelves were dust-free, but even they couldn't find a single thing to complain about because everything was truly sparkling.
The apartment has a real family-friendly atmosphere, not that stiff, cold hotel feeling. It was great to arrive and be able to lie down and rest right away, instead of spending time looking for a place for our things in the dirt. This orderliness really helped us feel at home in the middle of the big city from the very first minute.
Brutal Spaces: Finally Not Cramped Together
The size of the apartment is something incredible, around "109–110 m²," which I think is a rare treasure for a city-center apartment. The rooms were comfortable and large, which mattered a lot to me because I didn't feel like I was sitting on my parents' necks all day. Because of the 2-bedroom layout, everyone had their own private space, which is key to peace in our family.
It often happens that at a lodging you have to dodge suitcases, but here five or six of us fit easily without any pushing and shoving. This spaciousness made the days truly relaxing because we had room to breathe, and everyone could retreat for a bit if they wanted to be alone. The ceiling height was also high, which further increased the sense of space.
The Living Room, Which Was the Soul of the Apartment
If I had to choose a single room that became my favorite, then "I liked the living room the best" in the entire apartment. It had a vibe that made you want to hop onto the sofa immediately. It was modern, bright, and served as the perfect venue for us to discuss what happened to us in the city at the end of the day.
Because of the size of the living room and its furnishings, this was our base, the center of family life. This was the most comfortable place to scroll through my phone or just zone out after a long day of sightseeing. I think this part got the best design; every detail was spot on, and you could see they paid attention to style.
Kitchen Life and Breakfasts Together
Although we mostly ate out somewhere in the city, we used the kitchen a lot for breakfast and evening tea. It was especially good that you could "fit comfortably" in it, even when the whole family was bustling around the counter at the same time. The kitchen was fully equipped with every appliance we could possibly need, from the coffee maker and toaster to the dishwasher.
I didn't feel like we were trying to make breakfast in a cramped hole like in many other apartments. Every tool was clean and within reach, so self-catering caused us no stress at all. You could have even whipped up a serious family dinner in there because the space and equipment were truly there for it.
Double Comfort in the Bathrooms
One of the most practical parts of the flat was having 2 bathrooms, which is a lifesaver for a larger family like ours. Although the "toilet was small for me," since there were two of them, it wasn't annoying at all. In fact, we were rather happy not to have to share a single bathroom block during the morning rush.
Because of the two baths, "we didn't have to wait for each other" in the mornings, which saved us a lot of time and nerves. While my parents were getting ready in one, we were already finished in the other, so we could head out to see the city much sooner. This kind of double comfort is, in my opinion, one of the biggest advantages of this place if multiple people are visiting.
Wellness in the Room: The Infrared Sauna
What absolutely surprised me was the infrared sauna in the apartment, which I think is an incredibly cool extra service. I'll be honest: in the end, "I just didn't use it" because I was so preoccupied with the city and Netflix, but I looked at it every day and really "wanted to try it." The opportunity for wellness was right there without having to step out of the front door.
Just the knowledge that we had our own sauna added a lot to the place. I could see in Mom and Dad's eyes that they highly appreciated this extra thing, even if we mostly just looked at it rather than sitting in it for hours. A feature like this truly gives a luxury feeling compared to an average Budapest rental and sets it apart from other accommodations.
Modern Tech and Security
Entry and security were also handled very professionally, which I liked as someone who enjoys technical innovations. The "door has a code lock," which I think is much more practical and modern than messing around with keys within the family. We didn't have to worry about losing the key; we just typed in the code and we were inside our base.
Although from the outside the apartment still opens with a traditional key, the internal code system was very convenient. The elevator in the building was especially useful when we arrived with heavy suitcases. We didn't have to carry our things up the stairs, which made moving in much easier. It was clear that they paid attention to these important small details when equipping the apartment.
Summary: My 10/8 Experience
All in all, our stay in Pest became so memorable partly because of the accommodation. I loved the style of the place, the huge spaces, and that we were truly next to Nyugati Railway Station, close to everything. My personal rating is a "solid 10/8," which is considered very good for me, especially since I can be quite critical of accommodations.
There were small things, like the size of the toilet, but it didn't ruin the overall experience at all. I felt perfectly fine with my family, and everyone found what they were looking for. Based on my own experience, I can only recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a modern, spacious accommodation in Budapest that meets all needs.
